Our Breeds
Svarthona
one of the rarest breeds in the world. The Svarthona, also called the Swedish Black Chicken, is known for its striking all-black color, inside and out. They are a smaller breed and lay peach colored eggs. They do very well in the cold, often continuing to lay eggs through the winter. Our Svarthonas love to forage and will always entertain with their flighty personality and tendency to go broody.
Black Copper Marans
Beautiful dark chocolate egg layers. Black Copper Marans are a stunning large size bird. They lay a large to extra-large dark brown egg. Our Marans (both the Lavender and Black Copper) are the sweetest chickens. They have a very docile temperment and do very well in colder temperatures. Marans are one of the best breeds if you are looking to add delicious big brown eggs to your basket.
Lavender Marans
We love all things lavender. Our Lavender Marans are a large size bird and lay large size size brown eggs. They have a very docile temperament. The pure lavender color is hard to achieve in chickens but makes for a beautiful bird with arguably the cutest chicks.
Lavender Olive Egger
One of our favorites. Our Lavender Olive Eggers are a cross between our Lavender Marans (brown egg layers) and our Lavender Ameraucanas (blue egg layers). They are a medium bird and lay medium to large olive colored eggs. They have cute cheek feathers and sometimes leg feathers as well. This amazing breed gives you the docile temperment of the Lavender Marans with the unique look of the Lavender Ameraucanas. They are great for pets or to add some color variety to your egg basket.
Backcross Olive Egger
We achieve backcross olive eggers by taking our F1 olive eggers who carry the blue egg shell gene from their Ameraucana or legbar lineage and cross them back with their Marans father. This allows us to breed for dark olive to shades of brown eggs from their offspring. Backcrossed Olive Eggers will have a 50/50 chance of laying olive or brown eggs. They can also come in beautiful shade of lavender to the typical Black Marans coloring.
Lavender Ameraucana
True blue egg layers in the beautiful lavender color. these chickens have cheek feather muffs and a beard. They are a medium bird and lay a medium size blue egg. They have a good temperament but can be a little more flighty than other breeds such as the Marans. One of the only breeds to lay blue eggs, a must have for an impressive array of egg colors.
Easter Eggers are currently unavailable for the 2025 hatching season.
Easter Egger
Add some color variety to your egg basket! The Easter Egger is a mixed-breed resulting from the cross of a bird carrying the blue egg gene with one that lays brown eggs. These medium size chickens can be any color and sometimes have cheek muffs and beards. They lay medium to large eggs in shades of just about any color from blues/greens to pinks/browns. The are a very docile breed which seldom goes broody. Adding Easter Eggers to your flock is a fun way to get a variety of feather and egg colors.
